Marblehead District Technology Plan

The use and integration of technology in the Marblehead Public Schools is multifaceted. It drives the learning and administrative functions of the school district and therefore is transparently incorporated into the daily work of students and faculty. The district aims to make the potential of information and communications technologies a reality.

Curriculum renovations and initiatives K-12 are the result of the Assessment, Professional Development, and Instructional Technology programs.The Blueprint Goals rely on the use of technology.They were derived from the District's Principal Values and are organized as an Educational Technology Hierarchy of Needs and Goals that target the ultimate goal of improving Learning Results. The Educational Technology Hierarchy of Needs and Goals begins with the foundational needs of Network Infrastructure & Hardware and Technical Services & Data. These functions support Communication, Collaboration, Curriculum Application and Assessment in the following ways:

*Assessment Goal: Improve instructional practice and learning results with data-driven decisions.
Principal Values: Accountability, Academic Standards, Technology

* Curriculum Application Goal: Improve student achievement by engaging teachers as instructional leaders; and, deepen student understanding with new tools for teaching and learning

* Collaboration Goal: Improve sharing of ideas and practices by nurturing a professional learning community.

* Communication Goal: Facilitate easy access to school district information for faculty, students, parents and the community.
